Food Security and Nutrition in Humanitarian Emergencies Diploma Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Global Institute is pleased to announce a Food Security and Nutrition in Humanitarian Emergencies Diploma Course. This is both an online and Distance Learning Course, which starts 1st of every month.
Overall Course Overview:
The course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to public health and Humanitarian response practitioners on public policy and programming in the areas of nutrition, agriculture, public health, food safety, and income generation to improve food availability, accessibility, utilization, and stability.
Diploma in Food Security enhances learners’ abilities to manage food security programs within governmental, non-governmental, and multilateral organizations.
The course is appropriate for health service providers, disaster response workers, relief agency staff, public health practitioners, nurses, national ministries of health in countries that are regularly affected by emergencies and other professionals involved in disaster response and risk reduction
Overview on nutritional concepts
- Macro and micro nutrient malnutrition
- Nutrition assessment in emergencies
- Infant and young child feeding in emergencies
- Food security approaches
- Nutrition response in emergencies
- Monitoring and evaluation of nutrition programs
There are four assignments (continuous assessment tests), research paper and one examination to be offered at the end of the course. Assignments account for 40%, research paper accounts for 30% while Examination accounts for 30% of the mark. Upon completion of the course you shall be issued with a Diploma Certificate and a course transcript.
Certificate and Transcripts will be sent after successful completion of the course.
DURATION AND COURSE LOAD: 24 Weeks – 5 to 6 hours per week DATES: (Six Months) Course Starts 1st of Every Month.
